A little note from me ...

Dear Sweet Parent,

I want to tell you something important: There's nothing wrong with you if you're struggling with your parenting. 

 

Parenting truly is the hardest job on the planet when it is done well. And it's even harder when you're doing it without a game plan, without guidance, and without support. If this is true for you, no wonder you're struggling. It would be weird if you weren't struggling, to be honest.

​

I am a mom of two children. My kids were not easy babies, so I read every single book I could get my hands on. It wasn't enough. I went to playgroups. It wasn't enough. I tried to have real parenting conversations with friends and family. It wasn't enough. Although I felt confident about my parenting (I wasn't perfect, but I had lots of experience with kids before being a mom), I knew that parenting could be something much richer and delicious.

​

When I started coaching and teaching parenting classes, I loved the community we created. At the end of each class, parents would literally beg for more - more information, more practice, more connection to like-minded parents. I knew I had to do something to offer them more. They needed it. Just like I had needed it.

​

This is how connectED was born. Since starting the program, I've been able to help smart, motivated parents move from reactive "winging-it" parenting chaos to a new responsive "I got this" parenting mentality.

​

Parenting is a set of skills that none of us were born with. And if you're trying to parent differently than how you were parented yourself, then you've absolutely got to have a game plan and excellent guidance. You can't just refuse to use the parenting tools you were taught (such as yelling, shaming, or bribing). You must have awesome new tools to replace them with, otherwise you'll end up empty-handed and totally lost. Which sucks.

​
